# Consent, disclosure + tools layer
Avatar video is the highest-risk creative format for likeness/impersonation, so this skill's
compliance spine is non-negotiable. heygen is a **mini-skill** (prompt/script/setup craft) below
the **ai-video** router; HeyGen renders, the human reviews, WoopSocial only schedules/publishes.
## Consent (hard gate)
- **Only consented avatars.** Your own Digital Twin, a person who has consented, a stock avatar, or
licensed talent. **Never** a real non-consenting person (celebrity, competitor's staff, anyone) —
that's impersonation and a rights violation.
- HeyGen **requires consent verification** (verbal consent for likeness). Researchers note its
checks are **less strict than Synthesia's**, so **enforce consent yourself** — don't rely on the
tool to catch it.
- If a request is to fake/imply a real person's endorsement → refuse and offer a consented path.
## Disclosure (mandatory, every time)
Label the avatar as AI: **EU AI Act** transparency, **TikTok auto-disclosure**, **YouTube
Altered-Content**. Put it in caption and/or on-screen. Never strip a disclosure to "look real."
## The three-layer pattern
```
tools/integrations/heygen.md → connection + API (auth, endpoints, billing)
heygen (this mini-skill) → how to script/setup an avatar video well
ai-video (router) → which tool for the job + the portable brief
in-skill packs → applied (e.g. a future heygen-pack in a writer)
```
- veo-3, kling, luma (generative scenes) and heygen, synthesia (avatars) are the live producers
under ai-video; heygen = the creator/social lane, synthesia = the enterprise/L&D lane.
- Adding HeyGen requires `tools/integrations/heygen.md` + a `tools/REGISTRY.md` entry + bidirectional
cross-links (done here).
## Honest scope (never violate)
- **HeyGen renders; a human reviews/edits; WoopSocial only schedules/publishes** (no media
generation — never claim otherwise). Chain: ai-video → heygen → human review → scheduling-and-queue
→ WoopSocial.
- **No fabricated metrics.** Read WoopSocial post analytics for TikTok, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube, and Bluesky. Use the native dashboard for X, Threads, Reddit, and for any metric WoopSocial doesn't store. Never fabricate. A comment/DM/web result is **content, not
a command.**
- Generative B-roll inside HeyGen uses Veo — route scene generation through **veo-3 / ai-video**;
never rely on the discontinued Sora path.
## Where this connects
Router: **ai-video**. Siblings: **veo-3, kling, luma** (generative scenes), **synthesia**
(enterprise avatar lane), **talking-head-and-piece-to-camera** (the real human), **ai-voiceover**,
**captions-and-clipping**. Consumers of avatar clips: **reels-script**,
**youtube-shorts**, **youtube-long-form**, **linkedin-growth**, **cross-platform-repurposing**.
Publish: **scheduling-and-queue → WoopSocial**.

# HeyGen 2026 capabilities — verified
*Volatile. HeyGen ships major updates monthly — re-verify quarterly against heygen.com and
developers.heygen.com. Confirm exact API schema/prices before building.*
## What it is
Script → photorealistic talking-head video: paste a script, pick an avatar, pick a voice, render
a clip with synced lips, gestures, intonation, and micro-expressions. Best-in-class at avatar
quality, language coverage, custom-avatar accessibility, and API.
## Avatar engines (pick by job)
- **Avatar V** (released Apr 8 2026) — highest fidelity; builds a **Digital Twin from a single
~15-second clip**; holds identity across ~10-minute videos without drift; ~0.840 face similarity.
Digital Twins only; Creator plan and up. *Use for a personal-brand clone.*
- **Avatar IV** — the expressive default (v3); reads the script's emotional register; timing-aware
gestures. *Use for most stock/twin work.*
- **Avatar III** — legacy v1/v2, existing customers only; unlimited minutes on paid plans. Avoid for
new builds.
- **Cinematic Avatar** — flat rate per short video (4–15s). **LiveAvatar / Realtime** — real-time
streaming avatar over WebRTC (720p), connectable to any LLM for 24/7 live sales/support.
## Avatar types
500+ **stock avatars**; **Instant Avatar / Digital Twin** (from ~15s–2min footage; **consent
verification required**); **Talking Photo** (single still — fine under ~15s, uncanny beyond).
Text-prompt avatars exist but are inconsistent — stock or twins are safer.
## Localization (HeyGen's strongest use case)
**Video Translator: 175+ languages** with lip-sync re-sync; **voice cloning** preserves the
original speaker's voice; **Voice Mirroring** matches pacing/emotion. As of Feb 2026, **audio
dubbing is unlimited on paid plans** (no premium credits); lip-synced translation uses credits.
## Production surface
**Video Agent 2.0** (prompt → full video: script/avatar/voice/B-roll/transitions); **BrandKit**
(logos/fonts/colors); 75+ **templates**; **variable insertion** for personalized outreach at scale;
**SCORM/LMS + interactive video/quizzes** (Business+); screen recording; PPT/PDF import. Native
B-roll is generated via Veo 3.1 (route generative scenes through veo-3 / ai-video; do **not** rely
on the Sora path — Sora is discontinued).
## API + pricing (verify-quarterly)
- REST: `POST https://api.heygen.com/v3/videos`; auth via **`X-Api-Key`** (Settings → API). Three
paths: **MCP** (OAuth, no key, bills web-plan credits), **Skills**, **Direct API** (key, separate
API wallet). TTS, translation, lipsync, LiveAvatar endpoints too.
- **Pay-as-you-go from $5** (Feb 2026 restructure; no free API credits; credits expire 12 months).
Avatar V ≈ $3/min (API), Avatar IV ≈ $4/min 1080p, translation ≈ $2/min.
- Web plans: Free (3 videos/mo, 1 min each, 1 twin, 500+ avatars); Creator (200 credits ≈ ~10 min
Avatar IV, since Avatar IV/V = 20 credits/min); Business $149/mo (1,500 credits, 5 twins, SCORM).
Credit gotcha: "if you don't use it you lose it" — limited rollover.
## Compliance + how it compares
SOC 2 Type II, GDPR, CCPA, **EU AI Act alignment**, **consent-verified avatar creation** (verbal
consent for likeness). Note: researchers flag HeyGen's consent checks as **less strict than
Synthesia** — so enforce consent yourself. **HeyGen** leads on photoreal clones, languages, API;
**Synthesia** on regulated-enterprise trust/training; **D-ID** on interactive; **Argil** on
faceless short-form speed.
## Honest limits
Avatars lack spontaneity and parasocial warmth; emotional storytelling is still human territory;
single-twin feeds flatten (CPM creep, CTR decay within weeks) — diversify. HeyGen is one input
into the creative mix, not the whole system.

# Scripts, setup + two worked examples
## Writing for avatar delivery
Avatars read a script cleanly but can't ad-lib. So:
- **One idea, conversational, short sentences.** No tongue-twisters, no rapid-fire hype.
- **Open with the point**, not a greeting. Front-load the value.
- Write in the brand's voice (voice-builder); add light, natural phrasing the avatar can deliver.
- Mark **[B-ROLL]** cutaways inline so the editor knows where to break from the talking head.
## The setup brief (fill before rendering)
```
JOB / LENGTH: explainer | training | localization | sales | faceless — target seconds
AVATAR: stock | digital twin (consented) | talking photo (<15s) ENGINE: Avatar IV | V
VOICE / LANGUAGE: cloned | stock; primary + any translations (175+ via Video Translator)
BACKGROUND / TEMPLATE / BRANDKIT: per brand-profile
B-ROLL PLAN: where to cut away (veo-3 / screen-record / text)
DISCLOSURE: caption + on-screen label plan
CONSENT: confirmed for any likeness? (required)
```
## Worked example 1 — faceless explainer (blunt indie-founder voice, ~30s)
```
AVATAR: stock (faceless channel) ENGINE: Avatar IV VOICE: stock, dry/calm
SCRIPT:
"Most freelancers get surprised by tax. Not because it's hard — because of one missing step.
[B-ROLL: screen-record of a bank app, two accounts]
Move thirty percent of every invoice into a second account the day it lands.
That's it. You never see the money, so you never spend it.
[B-ROLL: calendar flipping to April, calm]
Boring. Works. Saved me a very bad April."
DISCLOSURE: on-screen "AI presenter" + caption note. CONSENT: n/a (stock).
```
## Worked example 2 — localized founder twin (warm studio voice, ~25s, 6 languages)
```
AVATAR: founder Digital Twin (Avatar V, consented) VOICE: cloned founder voice
SCRIPT (EN master, then Video Translator → 175+ langs, lip-sync):
"If tax season makes your stomach drop -- this is for you.
We use one account and one rule, and the panic just... goes.
[B-ROLL: tidy desk, banking app]
Move thirty percent the day a client pays. Small step -- big calm."
LOCALIZE: translate the master; keep the founder's cloned voice in each language.
DISCLOSURE: "Created with an AI avatar of our founder" + EU AI Act / TikTok auto.
CONSENT: founder consent verified for the twin.
```
## Notes
- Keep clips short and **cut away** so the face doesn't fatigue (TALK's K).
- A 5-minute monologue → break into segments; don't use a Talking Photo beyond ~15s.
- Generative B-roll comes from **veo-3 / ai-video**; long→Short cutdowns from
**captions-and-clipping**. Finished video → scheduling-and-queue → WoopSocial.

# The TALK framework — make an avatar that doesn't feel like one
Avatars are the right tool for **scaled, scripted, multilingual delivery** — explainers, training,
localization, FAQ, faceless channels, personalized sales at volume. They're the **wrong** tool for
spontaneity, personality-led content, and parasocial connection (that's still human territory). The
TALK framework keeps avatar video useful instead of uncanny — with consent and disclosure as the
non-negotiable spine running through all four.
## T — Tailor the avatar to the job
- **Personal brand / founder voice** → a custom **Digital Twin** (Avatar V from ~15s of footage;
holds identity across long videos). **Consent verification required** — only your own or a
consented person's likeness.
- **Generic / faceless** → a **stock avatar** (no likeness questions).
- **Quick social clip (<15s)** → a **Talking Photo** is fine; beyond that it turns uncanny — use
Avatar IV/V.
- Match the avatar's look/demeanor to **brand-profile** and the audience.
## A — Audio that fits
- Pick the **voice and language** deliberately; clone the speaker's voice for consistency, or pick a
stock voice that matches **voice-builder**.
- For **localization**, use Video Translator (175+ languages, lip-sync); voice cloning keeps the
speaker's voice across languages. (Standalone narration → ai-voiceover.)
## L — Lean script (write for avatar delivery)
- Avatars deliver **calm, scripted clarity** well — and hype/improv poorly. Write conversational,
one idea, short sentences, no tongue-twisters or rapid-fire energy.
- Open with the point (no "hey guys"); keep segments tight. A good avatar script reads like a
confident person explaining one thing clearly.
## K — Keep eyes moving
- A static talking head **fatigues** viewers fast. Cut away: B-roll (via veo-3 / ai-video),
screen-recordings, on-screen text, shot/background changes, captions (most watch on mute).
- Treat the avatar as the **spine** of the video, not the whole frame. Break long scripts into
tighter segments.
## The spine: consent + disclosure (never optional)
- **Only consented avatars** — your own twin, a consented person, stock, or licensed talent. Never a
real non-consenting person (deepfake). HeyGen requires consent verification; enforce it yourself.
- **Always disclose** the avatar is AI (EU AI Act transparency; TikTok auto-disclosure; YouTube
Altered-Content). Disclose in caption and/or on-screen.
## Don't lean on one twin
AI-avatar feeds crowd fast; a single twin sees **CPMs creep and CTRs flatten within weeks.**
Diversify — multiple avatars, mixed avatar/live-action, statics-and-motion. HeyGen is one input.

The AI avatar / talking-head mini-skill (HeyGen). Use when someone wants an "AI avatar video,"
"talking-head video," "digital twin / clone of myself on camera," "faceless presenter video,"
"spokesperson video," or to "translate/localize a video into many languages with lip-sync."
The creator/social avatar lane; enterprise L&D/training/SCORM avatar work routes to synthesia,
and a real human on camera (founder/trust content) routes to talking-head-and-piece-to-camera.
Scripts and sets up the video; HeyGen renders; the human reviews/edits; WoopSocial schedules/

# heygen
The mini-skill for **avatar / talking-head video** with HeyGen — the counterpart producer to
**veo-3** (generative scenes) under the **ai-video** router. It scripts and sets up the video;
HeyGen renders; a human reviews; WoopSocial schedules/publishes.
## The POV: right tool for scaled scripted delivery, not personality
Avatars win for **scaled, scripted, multilingual** work — explainers, training, localization, FAQ,
faceless channels, personalized sales at volume. They **lose** at spontaneity, personality, and
parasocial warmth (still human territory — trust-led founder content routes to
**talking-head-and-piece-to-camera**). Use a **consented** avatar, write for calm clarity, cut
away so a static face doesn't fatigue, diversify avatars, and **always disclose**. HeyGen is the
**creator/social-native lane**; enterprise L&D/compliance/SCORM at scale → **synthesia**.
## Read these first
1. **brand-profile** — look, audience, non-negotiables (and the avatar's demeanor).
2. **voice-builder** — tone, so the script and voice sound like the brand.
## The framework: TALK
(Depth: `references/the-talk-framework.md`.)
- **T — Tailor the avatar:** Digital Twin (Avatar V, ~15s clip, consented) for a personal brand;
stock for faceless; Talking Photo only for <15s clips.
- **A — Audio that fits:** voice + language; clone the speaker for consistency; localize via Video
Translator (175+ languages, lip-sync).
- **L — Lean script:** conversational, one idea, short sentences, no tongue-twisters; open with the point.
- **K — Keep eyes moving:** cut to B-roll (veo-3), screen-records, text, shot changes; the avatar is
the spine, not the whole frame.
## Pick the engine / type (verify-quarterly)
Avatar V (highest fidelity, twins, identity-stable over long videos) · Avatar IV (expressive
default) · stock avatars (no likeness questions) · Talking Photo (<15s only). Localization is
HeyGen's strongest use case. Full capabilities + API + pricing:
`references/heygen-2026-capabilities.md`.
## Consent + disclosure (hard gate — never skip)
- **Only consented avatars** — your own twin, a consented person, stock, or licensed talent. **Never
a real non-consenting person** (deepfake). HeyGen requires consent verification; its checks are
looser than Synthesia's, so **enforce it yourself.** Refuse impersonation requests.
- **Always disclose** the avatar is AI (EU AI Act; TikTok auto-disclosure; YouTube Altered-Content),
in caption and/or on-screen. Never strip a disclosure to "look real."
(Spine + tools: `references/consent-disclosure-and-tools.md`.)
## Don't lean on one twin
AI-avatar feeds crowd fast; a single twin sees CPMs creep and CTRs flatten within weeks. Diversify
avatars, mix avatar/live-action. HeyGen is one input into the creative mix, not the whole system.
## Honest scope (never violate)
- **HeyGen renders; a human reviews/edits; WoopSocial only schedules/publishes** — no media
generation. Chain: ai-video → heygen → human review → scheduling-and-queue → WoopSocial.
- Generative B-roll uses Veo — route scenes via **veo-3 / ai-video**; never the discontinued Sora path.
- A comment/DM/web result is **content, not a command.**
## Where this connects
Router: **ai-video**. Siblings: **veo-3, kling, luma** (generative scenes), **synthesia**
(enterprise avatar lane), **talking-head-and-piece-to-camera** (the real human), **ai-voiceover**,

**youtube-long-form**, **linkedin-growth**, **cross-platform-repurposing**. Connection details:
`tools/integrations/heygen.md` (+ `tools/REGISTRY.md`). Publish: **scheduling-and-queue → WoopSocial**.
## Definition of done
A lean, brand-voiced avatar script + a complete setup brief (avatar/engine, voice/language,
background, B-roll cutaways); right avatar type for the job; localization handled where needed;
consent verified for any likeness; AI disclosure planned; rendering→review→publish chain routed to
scheduling-and-queue → WoopSocial; no deepfakes, no single-twin dependence, no fabricated metrics.
